Krystal Klear
The Division
Running Back Germany
In recent times, Krystal Klear's EPs have wholeheartedly paid tribute to a variety of (mostly New York-based) historic clubs, artists and dance music sub-genres. While he's officially broken the spell with The Division EP - his first outing on Running Back - for the most part it's still a heart-warming, retro-futurist treat. He kicks things off with the cheery, Italo-disco revivalism of "Neutron Dance", where throbbing synthesizer arpeggio lines and mid-80s melodies are underpinned by a bustling mid-tempo house groove, before slowing things down via the Balearic synth-pop shuffle of "Division Ave". Then you'll find more muscular, freestyle-meets-acid house fun (wild and mind-altering peak-time highlight "Shockzoid") as well as the baggy, glassy-eyed Balearic house rush of closer "Moonshake Mike".
Alphonse
Better Weather
Hypercolour
Stellar vocal cut here from Alphonse Rozel, who has had previous releases for Klasse Wrecks, Emotional Especial and Black Orpheus. Described by Hypercolour as 'spacey and dusty deepness' and that's pretty on point. Vocals are provided by one Rev Be, which Rozel utilises across these three versions. The deep bleep techno of "Better Weather" in its original version calls to mind the sounds of northern UK sounds from the early '90s, the trippy dub version - or Phazed version - is vaguely reminiscent of Derrick May's studio expriements around the same time with its funked up, flanged out and reversed elements galore. Finally is the more straight ahead and dancefloor friendly bounce of the Abyss version.
T.U.R.F.
Shir Khan Presents Black Jukebox 22
Exploited Germany
While the previous volume in Shir Khan's superb Black Jukebox series came from one of electronic music's most experienced producers, John Andersson AKA Zoo Brazil, this latest missive is the work of a duo that is still at the start of its musical journey. "Young Dutch producers" T.U.R.F, to be exact, a pair who debuted on Apparel Music late last year. Check first string-laden opener "Drawn To You", where simmering orchestral samples swirl around a bouncy and rolling house beat, before turning your attention to the elastic disco-house bounce of "Second Chance" and its' sweet, cut-up vocal samples. If that's not enough to convince you to click the "buy" button, then check the sunshine-ready, peak-time deep house dreaminess of closer "Kukuza".
Flash Atkins

Charlie Sinclair
That Hit
Paper Recordings
The always reliable Paper Recordings are back with West Yorkshire's Flash Atkins and the captivating vocals of one Charlie Sinclair from Canterbury - singer from Sylvette who are one of Manchester's hottest new bands. They join forces for a collaboration that promises to be the start of something special. The track has already been gathering heat, with the one and only Bill Brewster singing its praise. From the deep, hazy and sunkissed feel of the original (which you could imagine being played on a Los Angeles rooftop), to the remixes - The Hardway Bros moody rendition injecting it with a right dose of dancefloor drama, and the slo-mo and absolutely low slung makeover by San Francisco's Tal M. Klein - it's certainly all good!
Marcel Vogel
/
Khalil Anthony
Brown Curls
EXCLUSIVE
Lumberjacks In Hell
The unstoppable Vogel machine is back on Lumberjacks with another serving of soul-soaked house goodness to warm the cockles as we step into Spring. This time around he's called on one of the great house vocalists of our times, Khalil Anthony, to lay down a vocal on "Brown Curls" that melts over Vogel's peppy, organic production. Nebraska bring a deeper, chunkier flavour to the track with their remix, and the results are just as captivating. Anthony's also on hand to croon over "You Are A Star", an equally simmering jam with more of that dusty house pressure from the deep end of the pool, while "Those Moments" finishes the record off on a funky, instrumental tip.

Hallo Montag 2018 Part 1
Suol Germany
Predictably, Suol has gathered together tracks from an impressive list of deep house producers for this expansive first volume in the Hallo Montag 2018 series. German veteran Ian Pooley sets the tone with the jacking, acid-tinged deep house bounce of "Time", before M Ono shows off his synthesizer soloing skills via the glassy-eyed Balearic house brilliance of "Waffelhaus". Iron Curtis's contribution, "The Further You Look", sounds simultaneously low-slung and gently dreamy (it's a fine combination), while Black Loops doff a cap to the greats of disco-house via the funk-fuelled, sample-heavy stomp of "Is This A Banger?" If you're in the mood for something a bit more bumping, the boompty-inspired stomp that is Carlo's "Lluvia" should be right up your alley.
The Cyclist
Alabaster Thrones
100% Silk
Fresh from the release of a killer cassette on 100% Silk, The Cyclist (AKA sometime Hypercolour and All City Records producer Andrew Morrison) returns to the same label with a tasty new four track EP. Check first the impeccably spacey, Motor City techno/intergalactic deep house fusion of "Aladdin Insane", before turning your attention to the wild, sweaty and decidedly hallucinatory acid house fuzz of EP standout "Ivory". Elsewhere, the analogue equipment enthusiast dishes up some sunshine-friendly positivity in the shape of bustling workout "Audiochrome" and adds a little jazz swing to the life-affirming Italian dream house blueprint on sublime opener "Alabaster Thrones". In a word: superb.
Books
Sour Grapes
Omena
Having tickled the fancy of a fair few DJs with last autumn's High Praise Edits release, Books is naturally keen to showcase original productions again. Hence this fine EP for the fast-rising Omena label. Title track "Sour Grapes" is our pick of the bunch, offering as it does a fine balance between dreamy, soul-flecked musicality and chunky, fireside-warm deep house grooves. Laurence Guy's remix of the same track, which reminded us of the hybrid deep house/broken beat/jazz-funk fusion tracks of 2000 Black, is also superb. The hits keep on coming elsewhere on the EP, too, with both sample-heavy, deep disco-house workout "Taking Care of Business" and the undulating, electronic audio sunshine of "The Spice Must Flow" both hitting the spot.
Hammer
Canna Remixes EP
LOFT
As the title suggests, this four-track missive boasts fresh remixes of tracks from Bicep associate Hammer's excellent Canna EP. It would be fair to say that there's a lot of talent on show and the results are uniformly excellent. Lauer leads the way with a typically glassy-eyed revision of "Canna" that effortlessly joins the dots between dreamy deep house and 1980s Balearic synth-pop, while the Supreems' version of "Man Ray" is a poignant and attractive deep electro shuffler rich in dreamy chords and meandering synthesizer motifs. "Manaka" gets two tasty transformations: a tactile and rubbery deep house revision from Glaswegian veteran Domenic Cappello that could well be the EP's standout moment, and a slow-burning, gradually building IDM style take from Firecracker Recordings regular Lord of the Isles.
Richy Ahmed
Can't Stop Us/Dials Mavis
Four Thirty Two
South Shields' finest returns with more punchy tech house on his Four Thirty Two imprint. After recent releases on Seth Troxler's Play It Say It and remixes for London Grammar, Richy Ahmed brings the goods back to home on this latest release. From the euphoric adrenaline of "Can't Stop Us" with its ravey piano breakdown backed by diva vocals, elevating rhythms and electrifying arpeggio bass line. He then gets deeper for something more geared for the late night on the moody "Dials Mavis" with its emotive Rhodes and humming sub bass with druggy vocal samples.
The Nathaniel X Project
I Am M.U.S.I.C.
Slow Down Recordings
In a career than has spanned three decades, James Nathaniel Tinsley has delivered a distinct take on the house music sound with releases on a multitude of labels - more recently on My Love Is Underground, Undertones and Traxx Underground. "I Am M.U.S.I.C." was originally released back in 2016 on vinyl only imprint Slow Down, but now thankfully gets a much needed reissue on digital. The title rack is real proper deep stuff, all analogue driven with emotive classic elements than can only come from Stateside artists - just sayin'! More classic house perspectives on the bumpin' swing and shuffle that nails at New York City vibe (in the vein of the legendary Kerri Chandler) on "Dance With Me" which will have you reminiscing of the glory days of Strictly Rhythm, madhouse and Nu-groove.
Leonid Nevermind
Quiet Love
EXCLUSIVE
Bivouac Sound
Leonid Nevermind made something of a splash with his early releases in 2011 and 2012, but has since been strangely quiet. This week he returns with not one but two fresh EPs, of which Quiet Love is arguably the standout. We were particularly impressed by the swirling, saucer-eyed sonics and bubbly electronics of the futurist deep house title track, though the synth heavy, slipped-boogie-meets-deep-house flex of "Menotaxis". The EP's other original track, "Blossom Chance", is a quietly dreamy but chunkily percussive affair, with the accompanying Dissolve Mix transforming it into an early Floating Points style deep house builder.
Christophe Salin
Sweet Memories
Salin
Hamburg-based producer Christophe Salin (real name Christoph Kuhn) has been doing his thing for a few years now, sporadically releasing rock solid deep house EPs on his own Salin Records imprint. His latest missive could well be his most inspired release yet. He begins with the harp-laden, set-opening ambient and subtle cymbal builds of "Sweet Memories", before whipping off his shirt, grabbing a jazz guitar and dancing down a moonlit beach on the Balearic jazz-house brilliance of "Paradise". Elsewhere, "Like a Call" is a sumptuously sunny, piano-heavy saunter through attractive deep house pastures, "Love is Unfair" is woozy, ultra-deep and hypnotic, and "Covered With Pain" is a curious but hugely enjoyable downtempo soundscape. Bravo Sir, bravo!
Lele Sacchi
Dreaming Won't Do
Rebirth
Gabriel "Lele" Sacchi joined Rebirth last year, following an impressive 2016 solo debut on Prins Thomas's Internasjonal imprint. Surprisingly, this is the producer's first single for 12 months. "Dreaming Won't Do" is impressively positive and colourful, with Chic style disco guitar stabs and dreamy vocal samples from a classic disco-boogie cut rising attractively above an Italo disco-inspired groove. Tiger and Woods reach for the pianos on their fantastic peak-time house rework, before former Visionquest twosome Benoit & Sergio re-cast the track as a strobe-friendly chunk of Moroder-inspired Euro-disco brilliance that will have dancers reaching for the lasers in no time at all.
Xinobi
Far Away Place (Remixes)
Discotexas
It would be fair to say that there's a head of steam building behind "Far Away Place". It was originally featured on Bruno "Xinobi" Cardossa's 2017 sophomore set On The Quiet, but has since appeared as a single (on Anjunadeep, no less). We're willing to wager that this edition, featuring some fine new remixes, will be extremely popular with both DJs and dancers. Last year's fine rework from Jody Wisternoff and James Grant is joined by new rubs by Tensnake and Pete Herbert. Predictably, it's Tensnake who takes top prize via a sparkling, funk-fuelled, synthesizer heavy version that sounds like a summer anthem in the making. That's not to say that Pete Herbert's revisions aren't good, though; in fact his breezy, extra percussive Balearic disco Dub is every bit as essential.
Rodrigo Gallardo
Minero
Underyourskin
After his remix of Shkoon's track "Bushiya", Chilean DJ/producer Rodrigo Gallardo now presents with his own EP on Underyourskin Records. It is the first solo EP on the imprint by him, according to the German label. Gallardo has put together a mix of electronica and downtempo here on the Minero EP. In addition to the two original tracks - the woozy latin folk of the title track and "Como Si Fueran Dioses" (which will appeal to fans of the Crosstown Rebels or Sol Selectas sound) the release also includes a minimal techno styled remix by Berlin's M.RUX and one by MoM & ANuT which is respectful to the original, but injects it with more added dancefloor dynamics in impressive fashion.
Patryk Cannon
Family Movies Waves & Friends
EXCLUSIVE
Father & Son Records & Tapes
As a selection of eclectic listening materials, Patryk Cannon has delivered a crate of gold dust with his latest LP project. Be it the luscious electronic soundscaping on tracks such as 'Mareznia' and 'Machines In Rain' or the chilled out drum maneuvers of 'Waves and Fractals', this EP really is a lesson in productive creativity. Favourites include the almost burial-like atmospheric arrangement of 'Full Of Flowers' and of course the stunning percussive movement of 'The Birds'. This is definitely one we would recommend to all for casual listening.

Hammer
Canna EP
LOFT
Earlier this year, Hammer broke loose of his long association with fellow countrymen Bicep with a fine EP of peak-time goodness for the Optimo Disco Plate series. Here the Northern Irishman returns to house pastures via an EP of saucer-eyed loveliness on Loft Records. The dreamy and ultra-positive "Canna" is particularly ear pleasing, featuring as it does a tactile mix of Twin Peaks style chords, hustling acid bass, rave-era whistles and glistening, eight-bit melodies. "Manaka" provides more dreamy positivity - think Adriatic sunsets and Mediterranean sunrises - while "Man Ray" sees him pay tribute to a master of surrealism via poignant electronics, lilting melody lines and some clattering drum machine percussion.
Isaac Tichauer
Street Lessons Remixes EP
LOFT
LOFT's latest release is an all-star affair, with a quartet of hyped artists taking it in turns to remix tracks from Berlin-based Aussie Isaac Tichauer's recent Street Lessons EP. Belfast boys Bicep step up first, delivering a mix that blends winding synthesizer lines with rolling, early '90s style breakbeat house grooves. Hackman's version of "Street Lessons" is a cheery, UKG-meets-deep house affair full of skipping beats and twinkling pianos, before Dorsia serves up a tasty vocal version of the same track smothered in psychedelic electronics and pretty synth melodies. Finally, Lancelot manages to deliver a drowsy tech-house-meets-boisterous garage interpretation of "Street Lessons" that should go down well with younger crowds.
Isaac Tichauer
Street Lessons
LOFT
"Street Lessons" is the new release by Berlin dwelling Aussie Isaac Tichauer. Bumping and sexy deep house with a razor sharp bassline and tightly programmed rhythms supported by smooth male vocals by Jean Nonchalant. Oh and a wonky Life & Death style synth lead. All you need right? There's also the dreamy yet adrenalised journey track "Higher Level" which is the kind of open air rooftop business you could imagine Lee Burridge and Matthew Dekay pumping out.
Dorsia
Ghana
LOFT
For their second outing, LOFT Records have turned to London-based rising stars Dorsia. The duo is on fine form on "Ghana", an attractive chunk of bass-heavy, tech-tinged deep house that benefits greatly from a superb cut-up vocal, subtle melodies and just the right amount of winding analogue electronics. The remix package is impressive, too, with Jay Shepheard's foreboding, gently sweaty take - all acid bass, rising chords and US garage era organ stabs - just edging out Roberto Rodriguez's deep, woozy, enveloping version as our personal favourite. That said, HNNY's loose, analogue-heavy deep house revision is pretty tasty, too.
Ejeca
/
Citizen
Rosario
LOFT
Loft have scored somewhat of a coup here with this split EP capturing two acclaimed talents on the cusp of great things. Garry "Ejeca" McCartney specialises in complex lushly textured production that is aimed for both the feet and the heart, and "Rosario" with it's deep house groove, beautiful strings and layers of classy musicality does both with ease. Citizen tends to go for a combination of smoky, velveteen late night sexiness and upbeat house. On the sexy, moody and dark "U Give Me Love" we get exactly that. Both Mic Newman and Nicolas deliver solid, if more straightforward, remixes.
