Sublime Bass Vol 10

LW Recordings have thrown a serious party on their latest 'Sublime Bass' compilation, collecting together some of the most sought after names in the bass scene for a 25 track tearout. This tenth edition of the release serious sees the likes of X5 Dubs, Sample Junkie, Tengu, Killjoy, Priceless and a tonne of other highly talented producers come together for a real multigenre showcase. Our favourites would have to be the smooth yet grimey collaborative sounds of 'Fractals' from Kareful and LTHL, the futuristic hardcore rolls of Sekt-87's 'Gangster' and of course the violent dubstep flavours of 'Depth' from Sirius.

AC Slater

I Wanna Show You EP
Night Bass

Aaron Clevenger aka AC Slater returns to Californian low-end specialists Night Bass, with a brand new three track EP ahead of his performance at the legendary Coachella festival in the Colorado Valley in April. This also follows up his debut album Outsiders for the label last year. "I Wanna Show You" sees the Party Like Us boss push his bass driven tech-sound sound forward. On "Amen Tribe" and "Can't Come Down" (featuring YoungLyxx) we see the Los Angeles native thrown down yet more sleazy deep tech bounce that's sure to cause some heat on the dancefloor.

Oh yes, Taime are firmly back on the Saucy imprint, and you know this lot are up for a good dance when it comes to constructing killer, bass-driven breaks for the headz! This time they roll through with the vocals of Janai, on the "Lonely Memories" tune, an all-out voyage of fat beats, deep basslines and that gnarly elector edge that they love so much. A pure-bred UK belter!

Darkzy is Nottingham based DJ Elliott Fisher, who has had releases on top bass labels such as Project Allout, Deeprot, InFlux and Southpoint. This new one is for UK bass music institution Crucast entitled the Dark Nightz EP. From the fiercely wonky bassline antics of "Running Back To You", the the grimey dancefloor vibes of "Ur Eyez" and the proud UK garage influence of the storming "Me & You" he then merges pop sensibilities with dubstep on "Simplicity" featuring London based chanteuse Georgia Lowe on vocals.

As summer rapidly approaches, the eyes and ears of the UK start to gesture towards a more laid back, UKG set of vibes. For this one Eddie Craig and FooR team up for a garage-breakbeat fusion by the name of 'Premonition'. It has all the makings of an instant classic, from the the emotive chord patterns and crunchy drum arrangements to the encapsulating lead vocal performance. This one comes complete with a selection of remixes with SBS & Proper Tingz taking it down a darker route, Selekio reworking it for the big room environment and Eddie Craig himself bringing forward a complete garage overhaul.

Is anyone in the UK Bass scene killing it quite as much as the legend that is DJ Zinc right now? It's hard to imagine so as the latest in a long run of high profile singles hits the shelves. As a composition, 'Amergency' has been tearing dances to shreds up and down the country, with it's lethal alarm-like leads and super sharp drum selections. There really seems to be no stopping Zinc & his Bingo Beats imprint at the moment.

Who doesn't love a bit of classic UK Garage? This release is perfect for any old school UKG nut as Livin Out Loud's modern classic 'Lately' receives five fantastic reworks, each as vibrant as the last. We start of with Ski's 'Super Switch Dub' which strips the production back to melodic vocal stabs, crunchy drums and smooth chord arrangements. Pure Statix follows this with his 'Klubb Grooves mix', mellowing out the arrangement thoroughly for a smooth ride. As well as this, CJ Reign and The Undertones provide soulful reworks whilst The Househoundz steer the composition down a darker alley.

It appears that UK funky really and truly is alive and well within this brand new 6 track project from Dankle. Straight from the off we are introduced to highly energetic flavours on 'Party On' and 'Big Sound' which work magic with both drums and bass synths. God Unit then fuse disco and tech with ''I'll Be Strong" before Dankle returns on the wonky rhythms of 'Dem Moutwata'. Dankle then turns jump up quick time on the electric 'Let's See' before the God Unit returns to wrap the EP up with the acid inspired 'Steak Bake'.

To kick off 2018 with a serious bang, UK dance music legend DJ Zinc returns to his own Bingo Bass label with a scorcher of an EP entitled 'For My People'. The title track is a designed for the busy dances, there's no question, with Zinc drawing for a bag of heavyweight bass synths and 4x4 rhythms alongside the vocals of Everybody You Know. The instrumental track has also been included. As well as this the EP features another standalone track entitled 'Everywhere' which features classic sounding euphoric female lead vocals and and a selection of playful synths with a definite commercial appeal.

DJ ZINC- there's no denying he's a gatekeeper, tastemaker and all around musical mac Daddy, this EP is proof that everybody wants to work with him. This aptly named 'Full House' EP see's DJ ZINC team up with some of the hottest names in the game. Jack Master shares the wheel on opening track 'The Anvil' which has a jumping beat and high pitch sing along melody. 'Soup Dragon' with 'Shift K3y' is a fun and funky slab of floor filling 4/4 and features the voices of the Clangers and yep... the soup Dragon its favourite track of the EP. 'Gammy Elbow' includes the musical mind of Chris Lorenzo and delivers a show girl worthy drum beat at the beginning building anticipation until the drop reveals an almost EDM-esque hands in the air style synth. We expect to hear this at every freshers night in the country in the coming months. Other co-labs on this on include 'Push It' with Holy Goof, 'Interbass' with MJ Cole and 'Crawler' with My Nu Leng.

This badboy is taken from the DJ Zinc full house EP which sees the powerhouse collaborate with some of the biggest tastemakers in today's dance music scene. My Nu Leng is a name on everybody's lips across all of dance, so when these guys got together, people got excited. It doesn't disappoint. The melody of the track is catchy and accessible but pitched at tone which keeps it authentic and true to the floor. The backbone of the track is a hard punching bass with shuffling drums and occasions burst of nostalgic rave breakdowns.

Bingo Beats head honcho DJ Zinc teams up with 2-step legend MJ Cole here, on its sub label Bingo Bass. The man behind the legendary Mercury Prize winning Sincere LP has gone on to produce for everyone from Dizzee Rascal and Wiley to Mary J Blige over the years. Here he makes a tremendous return to form with "Interbass", this tough and bouncy bassline track will shake the walls and have the crowd shaking their behinds too, no doubt!

What a meeting of bassline minds; the legendary Zinc and unavoidable newcomer Holy Goof collide for this tasty treat from Zinc's forthcoming Bingo Bass EP. Hookier than pirate convention, spikier than a Sonic cosplay get-together and rougher than sandpaper sandwich, Goof's brittle sound and Zinc's sense of groove are super strong and incredibly complementary.
