AMC & Turno
Alliance EP
Drum & Bass Arena
Easily one of the biggest long-term collaborations in drum & bass to form in years, A.M.C and Turno continue their allied antics on the trusty yellow and black D&BA platform. Four tracks in total, all repping a whole different side to the Bedford badmen, it's unashamedly forthright and beastly. "Alliance" is straight up dancefloor shreddage, "Boundaries" leaves space for Dreps and Phantom to get busy on the bars, "Maybach" is a steamroller workout while "Draw 4 That" takes you right back to the mid 2000s-era of TC and Clipz with skin-melting, rib-tickling results. Just massive.

The Xtraordinary League Of Junglists 2 Sampler 2
EXCLUSIVE
Ruffneck Ting
Junglist superheroes Ruffneck Ting return with the second sampler from their extraordinary new edition to their on-point album series. As always it's pure foundation business with some exceptional examples of contemporary roughage and choppage. Genetix twists up a fat riff and prods it from every corner on "Something's Brewing", Bristol OGs and label founders Substance & Dazee get serious busy with a shattering dubbed out roller while Jinx & The Force get deep, dark and dangerous with a purring, deep-breath bass that suddenly rises from nowhere in a techno-informed style. Need a little vocal pressure? Jump on Bassface Sascha and Phlex's "New Dawn" and trust us, you'll be feeling good...
Jaybee
/
Dave Owen
Sacrifice
EXCLUSIVE
Mac 2 Digital
Randall knows what time it is. Not just in the UK but stateside too as he continues to rep and support some of the US's most authentic and clued-up junglists Jaybee and Dave Owen. Here they hit hard with some of their gulliest flavours to date: "Grimey Shit" nods at the KOTR/Benny L style of foghorn bass, "Sacrifice" gets even more twisted with a cyclical bass drone and some impeccable amen work while the rather sweary cockney free-for-all "F**k Off" mops up the mess with a heads-down techy edge. Perfectly on-point.
Logistics
Hologram
Hospital
The mighty Matt Gresham returns with his seventh solo album and it's every bit as good as you'd expect it to be. Landing a year after his and brother Nu:Tone's second Nu:Logic album, it's another precision balance of shades, styles and moods that celebrates the widest sphere of D&B. From the delicate opener "Lotus Flower", Matt then weaves and guides us through his vibrant psyche - the hazy disco feels of "Heatwave", the crushed velvet sci-fi feels of "Microdot", the astrophonical stepper jam "Chant", the salubrious space funk of the title track "Hologram" and the dreamy twists and turns of "Signs" with Slovakian rising star Changing Faces are just some of the wonderful waymarks on his journey... Dig deep and find more destinations yourself.
Blocks & Escher
Something Blue
Metalheadz
It's time.... After years of speculation and anticipation, Blocks & Escher finally unveil their debut album and you don't even have to ask if it's worth the wait - you just know it is already. 11 tracks that rip up the floor up but work overwhelmingly well as a pure LP, highlights include the subdued jazz pressure of "One Touch", the eerie sweeps and poignant cries of "Witch Hunt", the skittered drum thunder of "Your Ghost" and the vast concord swoops and dives of "Wings", but that's just scratching the surface. What we're dealing with here is album of the year potential. Essential.
Fanatics
Cloud Nine / Mariana
EXCLUSIVE
Dub Damage Recordings UK
Belgian badmen Fanatics make their debut on Dub Damage and you'd be wise to pay attention. "Cloud Nine" is a little more stripped-back to their usual full-flavoured affairs but their well-tamed lasers are kept in check over a lean tripletty rhythm and some breath-taking graveyard pads. Looking for a little more in-your-face hype? Stick "Mariana" on and watch your whole floor get pulverised by those kicks and groaning bass. Handle with caution.
Jedi
You Know My Name
EXCLUSIVE
Dubstomp 2 Bass
Man-machine Jedi returns with four more slabs of stone cold truth: "Yo Momma" delivers the goods with every bit of tongue-in-cheek mischief and wisdom we've come to expect from the insanely prolific artist while "You Know My Name" shows off a deeper, purring side to his repertoire by way of a well placed rap vocal from one of the most distinctive and methodological men in the game. Elsewhere he provides balance with a sludgy bass walloping number about your father before closing the show with the deadly drama and ruthlessness of "In That Room". Naughty.
Sully
Soundboy Don't Push Your Luck/368ft High & Rising
Foxy Jangle
Premiership stinker merchant Sully returns to camp Rua for a cheeky amen sesh on their Foxy Jangle imprint. "Soundboy Don't Push Your Luck" is a system killer with overwhelmingly savage choppage that rifles up and down the pitch spectrum like you're being massage by a cement mixer. "38ft High & Rising" flips the vibe for more of a classic Sully soul-out, all shiny guitars and positive vibes but still fully charged with an epic and precision detailed drum arrangement. No one is doing it quite like Sully right now.

Jammin
Ultimate Weapon
Switch! Recordings
Groaner alerts! Jammin makes his debut on Switch! with two absurdly stinking pieces of bass naughtiness. "Ultimate Weapon" is a skin-melting wobbler that moans and grizzles under serious bass pressure and switches up into a variety of bass textures. "Savage Moments" (with fellow rising artist Tringy) swipes you from the left side as a neat percussive roll and cool spoken word drop into a cesspool of stanked out bass. Ultimately savage.
Coda
The Remixes Pt 2
Switch! Recordings
Version immersion: Switch return to Coda's 2016 release with two killer remixes from some well-rated and respected rising producers: Agro spaces out the classic juicy wobble on "Bad Guy" with more of a rhythm-based groove while Salvage & Shadre flip the elements and bring the Die-style bass groan to the forefront while filling in the background with a whole zoo of alien textures of their own. Bad boy re-rub business as always.
Red-I
Secrets/Society
Switch! Recordings
Rising UK bass butcher Red-I steps up to Coda & Pandora's Switch! with two mischievous steppers. "Secrets" flexes with a downpitched R&B-style vocal sample before dropping into a clean and crunchy bass riff that's not dissimilar to Annix in its lean-but-meanness. "Society", meanwhile, is a sociological analysis on the divisive post-truth politics concluding that unity can be found in awesome precision Q&A basslines and pristine drum work. Top of the class.
Lowriderz
Party Run
Switch! Recordings
Signing out on their most prolific, exciting year to date, Russian duo Lowriderz shut '16 down this juicy four-pack. Collabos play a key theme throughout; Enek helps them to bring out the classic 'Nightflight' style subby roller heritage, Danger helps to fuse a skanked-out subby dub track while Smoky Dogg turns "Good Chune" into a '96 era Playaz party-melter. "You Can Wait To Die" is the only solo production of the set and it comes with sublime jagged glass riff. Cutty.
Shadre
/
Salvage
Hostage
Switch! Recordings
Manchester duo Shadre & Salvage hop over to Vienna for some strong-armed Switch! antics. Four tracks deep, each cut reveals a different edge to their angular energy both collaboratively and individually; "Hostage" stretches the concept of harmonics within inches of its life with uncompromised melodic defiance and "Unbalanced" sees the duo go heads-down with a bouncy workout that ping-pongs seven shades of bass in an addictive Q&A style. Elsewhere Shadre goes solo for the creeper-style stepper "Explanation" while Salvage's "Hung Fu" takes no prisoners with its scratchy, glassy riff pressure. Beautifully ugly.
Shadre
Leviathan/Keler
Switch! Recordings
From Wigan to Vienna to your playlist in one sick swoop: Shadre makes his debut on Coda & Pandora's Switch! with two power-punch steppers. "Leviathan" is as slippery, shadowy and slimy as its namesake. Rolling in the murky bass shadows, it owes just as much to late 90s Ram rollers from Moving Fusion as it does contemporary jump-up. "Keler", meanwhile, brings us back to the future with its sharp staccato distorted bass shots and the unrelenting, brutish drums we've come to expect from both him and Switch!
