Sub Zero & DJ Limited
The Vibrations EP
Playaz
It's been a strong year for both these cats... Sub Zero's brought back G Dub with Original Sin and DJ Limited has consistently smashed the year with massive EPs on Serial Killaz, Co-Lab and Biological. Now pairing up for the first time, the sign out the year with this walloping eight-tracker. Six originals deep, we range from the dark brass and sludgy swampy bass groans of "The Cure" to the hands-up Spyda-fronted skanker "Highest Respect" via the electrifying Charge-style riff stabbing title track "Vibrations". Elsewhere Inja takes the lead on the cool sub fluctuations on "Run", the rough sandpaper harmonics of "Are You Scared" and the classic grizzly riff and sizzling switches of "Grab Dem". Each one designed for prime dance mischief... Feel the vibrations!
Nu Elementz
Mouse Trap
Sweet Tooth Recordings
Would you like to play a game? Nu Elementz return to Sweet Tooth for an old family favourite "Mouse Trap"... With a twist. Instead of playing a board game you get skanky to the laser bass and totally sucked away by the sci-fi breakdown. Everyone's a winner! Especially us because there are three more tracks on offer; "Smokin Barrels" is an infectious high-harmonic bass wriggler, "Hyrule" is a warped, stretched groaners while "Holding On" (with US duo Sub Killaz) plays the roof-raiser of the pack with its twisted squealing bass and sultry vocal sample. Game on!
Majistrate
Twenty Plus Part 3
Sweet Tooth Recordings
And still the double decade celebrations keep rolling. Two years after his Twenty album, Maji is still pulling in the biggest names for massive remixes from some of the label's many highlights. Sub Zero goes all-out with his twist on "Rise", "Cannot Escape" gets a metallic tech-licked VIP charge while man of the moment Turno turns "What Did You Expect?" inside out and Annix close the show with a creepy, twisted heads-down version of "The Sound". Twenty thumbs up.
Rowney
Gas Mark 7 EP
G13
Let's get cooking... Rowney's back for a bake-off and things are about to get hot. "Hiccups" is a jittering funker with mild use of flutes and two-tone bass textures, "Vibe Selector" adds more punch and swing to the riff with Serum style groove while "Da Wicked Man" rolls with a classic jungle feel. "Gasdup" will be the highlight for many thanks to its Taxman-level burping bass and stern undercurrents of gully funk and the rattling demolition derby style chaos of "Snakez N Fakez" is guaranteed to cause your floor chaos. Grubs up!

Diamond Volume 2
Diamond Audio
What a label Diamond Audio is shaping up to be. Four releases deep and they're already two albums and two massive EPs deep. Just look at the tracklist and you know we're right on the forefront of nex-gen drum & bass. Bou, T>I, Klay, Aweminus, Rawtee, Version... The list of hotly tipped future headliners here is impressive. Highlights include T>I's sweary stepper "Pull Up", Klay's radio-melting trip-out "Clap Back", Aweminus's gamey retro pacer "It's Ok", Rawtee's hornets nest bass and barbed soul on "Searchin'" and Version's cascading kicks and harrowed bass on "Facades". 10 diamonds in the rough... These will last forever.
Bladerunner
Full Resolution Part 2
Hi Resolution
Roller King and all round jungle don, Bladerunner returns to his Hi Resolution imprint with four more blinding slices of timelessness. "Forever" sets the pace with the classic rolling breaks and psychedelic synth tendrils wafting through the soundscape, "Sub Lo" strips things right back to the bare bones with clapping snares and a grainy one-note bass wobbles while "High Pressure" scorches with a high voltage space-bound bassline and a heads-down tunnelling groove. Finally "Turbo Boost" closes the EP with a vibe that more than lives up to its name... Absolutely savage. Bladerunner doesn't mess around mate.

Profound Beats
Previously spotted murking the life out of Unauthorised Audio and Wobble Infection this year, the fast-rising Phenom makes his debut on new Kent-based label Profound Beats. Three solos and two collabos with long-time partner in grime Vital deep, essential highlights include the iconic jungle vocal sample on "On My Mind", the low-riding Bristol-style bass funk of "The Real Scarface" and the relentless steppy energy and stark minimalism of "The 10th Commandment" All corners covered.

Hoogs
Remix Ep Part 2
Digital Terror
Digital Terror continue their version excursions with the second part of their celebratory remix series and they're pulling out the biggies... Taxman adds a whole new layer of distorted harmonics to Macky Gee's 2014 album banger "Deny", Jayline completely switches the jumpy bassline of "Wolf Bite" into some more electrifying and textural, Nu Elementz take us right back to 2010 with a massive re-up of High Roller's drill-like "Croc Hunter" while T>I completely subverts Hoogs' "Jungle Bad" with his signature slap-about swagger. Terrorific.
Dilate
Tornado/Fire Riddim
Dubz Audio
Imagine the data-spiking sounds that would rattle through your mind if you plugged you brain up to the biggest super-computer in the world... That's the type of intensity Dilate creates right here on the jittering staccato slammer "Tornado". "Fire Riddim" continues the seismic sensations with a jagged riff that scratches back and forth with the furious funk the title suggests. Duck and cover!

Drum & Bass Annual 2017
EXCLUSIVE
Audio Addict
DJ Hybrid looks back over another successful and hugely prolific year with this massive 31 track compendium of Audio Addict slammers, bangers and a few cheeky exclusives. A great opportunity to get up to speed on the 170BPM clarity DJ Hybrid operates the label at, every single track guarantees heat. Notable shouts go out to Kumurachi's various inclusions (especially Octo-Pi's brand new remix of "Phatty"), RMS & Dcision's low-riding bumper "One Ting", Epicentre's slinky soul-touched roller "infamous", Agro's skank-slapped "Bust Dis Ting" and Swerve's maximum-boosting twist of Hybrid's "What Else". But that really is the tip of the double-A iceberg. It's been an exceptional year for the label, and this is proof.

1 Year Of Original Key Records
EXCLUSIVE
Original Key
Catch-up time! If you've yet to experience the vibes of OKey's Original Key imprint, now is the time to get acquainted... Launched in Germany this time last year, here they've put all their releases so far in one handy package. Ranging from Heist's percussion-flickering funk on "Seems Risky" to DJ Sly's horn-blazed skanky switch-up "98 Style" via Bassface Sascha & Feindsoul's badboy blaster "Sage" and Tomoyoshi's Clipz-style Q&A fireworks on "Killa Soundboy", this collection is testament to what a great year it's been for OKey... And drum & bass in general.
Jayline
feat
GPS & Brockout
Omnia
Soundbully Audio
As label bossman Jayline prepares to drop his second album Lost City Of Beats he lays down three hair-raising specials. "Omnia" is a total bulldozer that can - and will - knock down your house and everyone inside it. "Mediocraty" sees him teaming up with label co-running Brockout for a edge-of-seat pacer that bites and shreds like an old Renegade TOV joint. Finally he gives his and GPS's buzz-riffed heaver "Businessman" a fresh VIP update. You're fired!

Remixes
EXCLUSIVE
Wobble Infection Digital
All aboard the Wobble Infection remix express! Rounding up another storming year, the Belgian bass HQ have commissioned a fat stack of re-rubs: Rowney adds a warmer tone to Kenji's "Born In It", Jack The Ripper adds a little spikiness to "Sometimes It's Better", Envenom refocuses the bass textures on "Headshot" to a laser-point while Simskai busses up the paranoid horror feels on "Pot Of Gold". Elsewhere we have Stompz going loco on "Drop Cut", Kenji tearing "Born Killer" to pieces and rebuilding with spit and venom while Certified flips the finale switch with oddball funk flare on "What". Savage.
Ram Trilogy
/ Various
RAM 25
Ram
The beast has landed! Ram Records' most important releases in recent times, the pioneering label celebrate quarter of a century with this insane collection of 25 seminal cuts and 17 selected reversions. Roots and future all in check, every cut reminds why Ram and its founder Andy C have the status they do in drum & bass. Total Science's tasteful jazz touches on "Cool Down", Metrik's growling Aston Martin style rebuild of "X-Ray", Bladerunner's precision update on "Quest", Shimon's personal update on his and Andy's "Night Flight", Chase & Status's elephantine shake-up of "Valley Of The Shadows". We're just listing perfect remixes for the sake of it now... You already know how big a deal this is.
Fixate
What Goes Around
Exit
Within the drum & bass community, dBridge's 'Exit' imprint has become synonymous with innovative bass music, pushing the boat out into plenty of steams a new. To finish off the year they join up with London's own Fixate for a firecracker of a six tracker. The title track 'What Goes Around' is an instant jungle favourite, complete with 8bit synths and rapid percussive elements. Other highlights include the half-time madness of 'The Rig Monkey' in collaboration with Skeptical, the techy unpredictability of 'Firewater' and the dancehall inspired arrangement of 'Murderers Dance Too', complete with wonky leads and awesome percussive riffs'.
Kenji
Ignorant
Keep Rollin'
Is there any stopping Kenji? Release after release the man is a machine. Here we find him back on home soil with the fledgling Latvian homestead Keep Rollin'. And he's feeling pretty generous as five tracks of his signature rugged, laser-lashing trippy machine funk drop upside your purdy chops: "Ignorant" is the stripped back percussive shaker, "Law & Order" will lock you up in its nagging riff, "We Need That" is blow the cobwebs off your organs with its creepy insistency while "Oh" (with Basstripper) will blast you off into space and not offer you a return trip. For added turbulence the equally unstoppable Bou adds new layers of urgency and grit to "Ignorant". What a package.

Digging deep into the original melting pot sound with some beautiful attention to drum detail, every single cut hits with future-shocking authenticity. Captain Mordrum's "Junglist Renegade" is a breakcore dreamboat, Doctor Genesis rolls out the breaks with a slurring sense of mysticism on "Dreams In The Jungle", Indradevi flips the Oriental rock switch with head-turning results on the totally unique "Step Away", OG Natty Rulers gets 2017 mindwarp flip on "All About To End" while RAW gets busy with a variety of mates for a speaker shattering finale. 27 examples of thoroughbred American jungle... And this is just volume one!
Critical Event
Fifth Move
EXCLUSIVE
Soul Deep Exclusives
Peaking off an exceptional year, Atmomatix bossman Critical Event follows a seriesa of releases on the likes of Influenza, DNBB and Celsius with this beautiful three-way on Soul Deep. "5th Move" hits with moody linger chords and occasional dreamy piano flourishes keeping momentum in all the right places, "Nostalgia" brings us right back to the essence of soulful drum & bass with lavish space around every element, soaring pads and a late-entering subtly gully bassline. "Silhouette" closes with a stunning jazzy high. Soft focus and laced with poignancy, it's one of Critical Event's most moving pieces of music to date. Sweet dreams.
Bank
Against The Grain
EXCLUSIVE
Soul Deep Digital
Bank returns to his spiritual Soul Deep home with a quartet of outstanding dream steamrollers. "Against The Grain" is a powerful vocal cut that's driven by some insistent and heavy rolling drums and complex atmospheric textures, "Misty Blue" lives up to its name with a hazy sheen that wraps around with you by way of a honeyed male vocal sample, "Droppin' Bombs" takes us down a slightly darker, junglised rabbit hole with a killer spoken word sample, finally "HP Sauce" tips a nod to the Blighty with a dense soaring groove and a vocal that's carefully placed deep in the middle of the mix, Spell-binding.
Potential Badboy
ROAR
Jekyll & Hyde Recordings
He's back! Original junglist Potential Badboy reboots his classic Jekyll & Hyde Recordings imprint for the first time in many years with this fresh stack of reggae-licked bashers. "Bun Up" is a timeless toaster with an obese bassline and some really deft vocal processing, "Lion Roar" sparkles with some beautiful rising guitars, finger click riddims and warm flows from Cowboy Ranger while "Over My Head" gets all soulful and spacious in such a way you could be convinced it's 1996 all over again. Loaded with dubs and versions, this is the start of an exciting new chapter for the man previously known as CMC.
