Daze Prism
Flux LP
EXCLUSIVE
Project Allout
Having slayed the year to pieces across labels such as Punks, Southpoint, U Wot Blud, Articulate, Northern Line and many more, Daze Prism returns to his spiritual home Project Allout for his debut LP. A back to back bruiser scenario; every cut is tailored for the dance as he explores that dank and fizzy area between house, bassline, UKG and breaks. Highlights can be found in every banger but moments that really grab you by the privates include the shimmering rising chords on "Find Your Way", the twisted soul and false sense of security on the soul-lashing stepper "Grind", the savage bassline textures and alien glitches on "Stars" and the over-whelming organ majesty on the finale "Yoshi". These are just the tip of the iceberg. Go Flux yourself.
Danny.wav
Safe EP
EXCLUSIVE
Rocstar
Safety first: Dannywav returns to Rocstar with another collective of multi-tempo party pieces. First he's donkey punching us with two-step slaps on the dizzying turbo-UKF of "Safe" (complete with venom bars from Leon Rhymes), next he's getting all low-slung and heavy with the cowbell in a way that's reminiscent of early Dub Pistols. If that's not enough to keep you under house arrest, he's also provided more skippy, vocal-twisting UKG in the form of "Vish" and concludes nihilistic dark dancehall stepper on "What's The Bleedin' Point". It's an ironic question; with beats like these, there's always a point.
X5 Dubs
Drunken Dub
X5 Dubs
Special request! OG Midlands maestro X5 Dubs unleashes some of his unreleased specials and there's a strong broken feel tempered throughout the collection. Jacking, fractured and each one wholly physical; "Pull Up" takes us back to the warehouse era where all styles were welcome in the acid melting pot, "You Just Don't Know" jacks with a sassy R&B vocal tease while "Drunken Dub" goes straight for the chin with its LFO style foundation menace while "Baby" breaks into a superb vocal sample that hits you right in the soul. "Making Love" finishes this massive EP with a sultry soul note over floor-dented acid house beats. Timeless rave material.

Warfare
Night Bass
Taiki Nulight's recent antic on Night Bass are steadily earning our attention and praise, not least because of their sheer carelessness for all the latest trends and sub-genre-fascination. The producer, who comes out of an excellent recent appearance alongside Low Steppa, goes dirty and loud with a no-nonsense, jungle-ridden bass monster built strictly for the dance floor. "Dominos", on the other hand, is a UK house bastard boasting a steady bit of beats, but an utterly deranged pile of sonics. It's one for the heads.
Taiki Nulight
Sledge
Dim Mak US
Brighton's Taiki Nulight has appeared previously on the likes of Night Bass and This 'Ain't Bristol but now hits the big time, it appears, with this killer for Steve Aoki's highly lauded Dim Mak Records. The Sledge EP features the title track; a wonky, grimy and funky dancefloor escapade designed for maximum impact. "Fire Power" features a bit of help from buddy Grande and there's one absolutely monstrous bassline on this one so check it out! "Spray" is definitely the darkest offering with its razor sharp arpeggio, junglist breaks and speed garage bleeps for added drama. Finally "Void" is definitely the most functional track on here, going for a good old fashioned electro house formula but doing his own way; sounds wicked!

Piano Cannon
Night Bass
With a title like "Piano Cannon" you'd be forgiven in thinking Taiki and Low Steppa have cooked up a house cut of such funky proportions you'd think it was gilded by Morillo's mum herself. But no; the pianos barely get a look-in as the two hot-to-trot producers lay down a shuffling, mildly broken house shuffled coded with computer bleepery where the full emphasis on dark missions rather than any OTT evangelism. "Lazer" maintains the chugging spirit as we're peppered with tripped FX over another heads-down UKG style beat and some slippery low-end dynamics.
