PaulWetz
Moonlight
Flak
Following up great releases by Leeds based Jamie Berry and Vesta, it's now over to young producer PaulWetz: a 19-year-old from Southern Germany. Keeping on with the label's penchant for things of the electro-swing persuasion, Wetz serves up the deep and sultry tech house of "Moonlight" which definitely has a touch of the exotic to it: more Latin we'd say, and it's a right scorcher featuring some steamy vocals. Second offering "Pablo" is a very cool experiment in indie-dance and will appeal appeal to the crossover antics of hot acts of the moment like Red Axes or Moscoman.
BRS
Lovin Me
Situationism
Third time around for BRS's deep house classic "Lovin' Me", which first appeared on Dubtribe Sound System's Imperial Dub imprint way back at the turn of the millennium. Speaking of Dubtribe, the San Francisco duo's brilliant remix - a near perfect fusion of Idjuts style, delay-laden percussion hits, dub disco bass, echoing vocal samples and rich chords - takes pride of place on this Situationism reissue. Then follows a slick and sumptuous late night soulfulness of Harley & Muscle's overlooked 2006 rework. Speaking of soul, check the brilliant positivity of Bitasuite's remix (taken from the same '06 Peng reissue), which effortlessly joins the dots between British deep house, modern soul and New Jersey garage. finally, UK edit maestro Situation himself pulls up his sleeves to conclude this essential to have EP.
Sandy Turnbull
Tonight (The Remixes)
Galleria
Sandy Turnbull's recent outing on Galleria, the masterful bit of UK-flavoured house by the name of "Tonight", was so successful on its release date that the imprint have come back with a fully-packed remix EP. Future Wildstyle's version is as glorious and melancholic as the original, taking sweet-ass jungle breaks and slicing them over a warm, nostalgic bit of piano house, whereas Christian B's Nite Time remix delivers a comparatively slicker house reinterpretation, and The Reprobates come through with what sounds like straight-up Ibiza cut of the original, optimized for getting those heads going back and forth. Tools with added power.

We'll Sea Parts 1 & 2
Mireia Germany
Mireia's latest EP is something of an all-star affair, with a quintet of well-regarded artists and up and coming producers contributing cuts. Polish studio buff Das Komplex kicks things off with the Balearic-minded, bass guitar-driven dancefloor positivity of "Las", before Johannes Klingbeil doffs a cap to Kraftwerk and cheery '80s synth-pop on the wonderfully melodious "Boys Club". Elsewhere, Manual Binder joins forces with Julian Stetter on the exotic deep house/nu-disco fusion of "Porto", RSS disco dips the tempo on the warm and woozy "We'll Sea" and Conga Fever takes a deep dive into jazz guitar-laden ambient house pastures on the sun-kissed and loved-up closer "Family Affairs".
Chaos In the CBD
Zona Del Silencio
In Dust We Trust
Another week, another killer release from Kiwi deep house sorts Chaos in the CBD. This one, a two-tracker on the In Dust We Trust label that they set up with pal John Sable earlier this year, is undoubtedly one of their strongest EPs to date. first you'll find the typically drowsy and atmospheric "Zona Del Silencio", a tactile and humid chunk of early morning deep house built around languid synth-bass and rolling, carnival-friendly percussion. The rolling bongo hits return on creepier "Unsound Mind", the musical equivalent of stumbling through a rainforest at 3am while high on herbal remedies. As with many of the duo's productions, it subtly builds throughout, offering movement despite the hypnotic, slow-build nature of the track's construction.

Octavia Rose
Lost In The Rhythm Remixes
Flak
Earlier this year Leeds electro-swing producer and sultry singer Octavia Rose repeated the success of earlier collaborations with newbie, Lost In The Rhythm. Now to follow it up they unveil a string of remixes aimed at sustaining the momentum of this hit. There are five reworks in total: Catjam begin with an accelerated wobble-tech rejig. Elsewhere Mista Trick opts for a slower electronic bounce with a little hint of DnB in the breaks, PiSK successfully goes for the traditional electro-swing route, Eclectic takes things in a bleepy trap direction and Slunk wraps it all up with a slick, synth drenched nu-soul rework.

Lost In The Rhythm
Flak
Following their successful collaboration, Delight, back in 2012, Leeds electro-swing producer and sultry singer Octavia Rose have decided to rekindle the magic on new one-off, "Lost In The Rhythm". Once again the rule here is 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it', but although this new ditty sounds familiar, it's never dull. Stomping along at 120bpm, Rose lays down a catchy 20s/30s style vocal over a classic swing strum before the tune surprisingly opens up into some infectious synthy electro-pop, catching everyone by surprise once more. Another hit to be sure.
Jamie Berry
Bombinate
Flak
Despite his habit of dropping one-track nuggets, Jamie Berry is back in business and brandishing a proper song-packed EP too! Berry has always been in a different galaxy of class to most electro-swing pretenders, and here is no different, with the raucous staccato strut of the title track leading the charge. Elsewhere "You Better Get Down" is a sassy half time prowler, "Risque" is all tough 30s-goes-breaks grooves and "It Ain't Right" is a pounding whirling dervish of jazz hands and bass. Finally the regal "Majesty" boasts some seriously elegant bass and urgent 4 x 4 bounce. Spectacular.

Heather Melgram
Neon Heart
Flak
Leeds based house guy Vesta is all about the feel good vibes of dance music. Ibiza is his spiritual home, and with "Neon Heat" he's created a summer anthem in the making. With bright percussion, snappy snares, warm arpeggiation and strong emotional vocals from Heather Melgram, this will be lapped up by the suns out, guns out crew.
Vesta (UK)
I Feel Something
Flak
Sprightly soul and bouncy bass: Leeds-based upstart Vesta makes his Flak debut with a couplet of summer-primed house bumpers. "I Feel Something" oozes groove appeal thanks to its layered synths, vocal snippets and positive chord progressions. With a more stripped back arrangement and clipped Kerri Chandler style hook "The Deep" lives up to its name before gradually developing into something more full flavoured when the well positioned vocal elements start to play off each other. An accomplished debut. More of this please Vesta.
